Juan S – Status Trucks Dispatcher

Juan S - Status Trucks Dispatcher

My name is Juan, I’ve been a dispatcher for about three years already.  I started out with Status, they gave me an opportunity to come on to training and now after a couple of months of training they gave me a fleet and I’ve become a logistics coordinator.  I try to book loads in advance for my drivers so we can keep them running, know where we are going, know what we are doing.

Some advice I would give to my younger dispatcher self would be to keep those great relationships with brokers, follow up with the brokers.  Because in all it helps me out which helps the driver out.  Now I have a great relationship with some brokers and they give me better runs for my drivers.

The kind of personality you need to make this work is not to be a hot-head and have patience.  You stick to the route and the strategy, have a great relationship with your drive and all in well you’ll end up having great teamwork and at the end of the week everything works out.

All in all the best thing to tell all the owner operators and drivers coming on to Status is we have a great training program here and we know what the best routes are and we stick to our strategies.

The best thing I can tell you is to trust us, trust your dispatchers and everything will work out well.  We have great teamwork, we build great relationships and we’ll work really great together with no problems.
